Surroundings-Lutherstadt-Wittenberg

Luther City Wittenberg is located on the Elbe only 100 km from our capital city of Berlin, and 70 km from the city of trade fairs, Leipzig, a central starting point and destination for anyone who likes to travel.
Martin Luther, Phillip Melanchthon, Johannes Bugenhagen, and Paul Gerhardt all influenced world history and left their mark on Luther’s town.
But also Napoleon, Gustav Adolf, Wilhelm Weber, Czar Peter the Great, J. W. Goethe and others spent time in this city.
Modern architecture can be found in the settlement in Piesteritz and in the Hundertwasser School.
The landscape park in Wörlitz and the biosphere reserve “Central Elbe” invite you to go hiking or just spend time relaxing.
The city of excavation, Ferropolis, and the impressive Bauhaus city of Dessau-Roßlau offer insight into industrial history and architecture.
Where can you otherwise take in such three amazing cities of world cultural heritage that are also so close one another?
